Iztuzu Beach, which is 12 km away from Dalyan, is not only Dalyan, it is the most popular beaches of our country. Iztuzu Beach has fresh water on one side and salt water on the other side.
Iztuzu Beach, which is about five kilometers long, during the day people swim, walk, lie in the sun to the sound of the crumping waves but at night a barrier comes down and the beach is claimed back by nature, in particular by hundreds of caretta carettas, one of the oldest surviving species in the world, which lay their eggs there from May to September.
The beach, which has been carefully protected by the people living in the region, has been declared a nature protection area. Serious efforts are being made to prevent damage to the turtle eggs.
While the places where the turtle eggs are located are marked by the officers, the beach is closed to the public entrance between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am. It is forbidden to light and makes noise around the beach during these hours.
If you do not want to enter the salt water, you can cool off in the fresh water of the lake. Iztuzu Beach is accessible from the dockside of Dalyan as well as by means of boats as well as minibusses departing from the center of Dalyan.
